Oculo integrates with Autodesk Construction Cloud

Oculo, a leading provider of reality capture software for the construction industry, today announced its integration with Autodesk Construction Cloud®, a portfolio of software and services that combines advanced technology, a builders network and predictive insights for construction teams, for streamlined collaboration and decision making.

Oculo utilises off-the-shelf 360-degree cameras to enable fully passive reality capture on a job site. Users can simply strap the camera on their hard hat and walk their site, while Oculo’s computer vision algorithms transform the footage into an interactive virtual environment. Oculo’s companion mobile app can enable single-tap detailed photo and audio note capture, with user location detected automatically. The resulting comprehensive visual documentation replaces the need for time-consuming, manual visual gathering.

Now, teams can easily view 360-degree visuals captured with Oculo in Autodesk Construction Cloud by simply adding the Oculo Partner Card on their Autodesk® Build and BIM 360® Project Home dashboards. Additionally, teams can seamlessly create and update imagery for their BIM 360 issues directly from Oculo, and easily cross-reference those issues back from BIM 360 to Oculo in order to see the original, 360-degree context.

“The new integration greatly simplifies and streamlines the documentation and collaboration workflows for teams using both tools. Not only is the documentation process significantly faster, but it also improves decision making by providing full visual context for any issue at hand. We are excited to see our users starting to reap these benefits, and we see this integration as just the first step of many between Oculo and Autodesk Construction Cloud.

Tom Kotecki, CEO of Oculo

The pandemic has underscored the importance of having jobsite imagery available for project teams more than ever before. Jobsite visuals are critical for teams looking to make informed project decisions, especially when they are offsite. Integrating Oculo with Autodesk Construction Cloud will enable construction teams to not only better collaborate, but also make decisions with the added context of what’s happening on their jobsites.”
